Supply Lists

We are offering parents the opportunity to purchase school supplies through School Start for the upcoming school year. This online service is not mandatory, but promises to save you both time and money if you choose to use it.

Please download the supply list for your child's grade (see below) and use it when you shop.

How to Place a School Start Order

You can place your order online at www.schoolstart.ca until October 1, 2019 (a $5 late fee will be applied after August 1, 2019). Visa, Mastercard, and PayPal are accepted. Use this method in May or June and you will be entered for a chance to win a $1000 cash draw!

The supplies will be packaged and can be delivered either to the school in August, or directly to your home (online orders only). For complete information on the ordering process, please view the School Start Parent Letter.

About the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Initiative

PSD schools are committed to enhance student learning through the BYOD Initiative. We hope to encourage an environment where each student has his or her own mobile device to use both at school and at home.

The BYOD Initiative is entirely optional, and students are not required to bring their own devices to use at school.

Purchasing Devices

Parents and students can make their own decision as to which device to purchase for BYOD. We do recommend that all BYOD devices meet the following criteria:

  • Internet connectivity (through Wi-Fi or other)
  • 6 Hour Battery Life
  • Ability to connect to Google Apps For Education
  • A Keyboard – integrated, Bluetooth or touch screen
  • Word processing capability (more than 1 paragraph)
  • Ability to integrate images, video and sound

Parkland School Division has partnered with a selection of businesses to aid with BYOD purchases. Visit the Technology For Learning page to access these offers and learn more about BYOD.
