Regular Board Meeting Highlights - April 2, 2019

April 2, 2019 - The Board of Trustees is pleased to share with all education stakeholders the highlights of our recent Board meeting held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. The adopted minutes will be available on our website following the next Regular Board meeting.
Update:
- The Board approved the monthly financial report for the period ending February 28, 2019. As of February 28th, 67.7% of revenues have been collected for the year compared to 67.97% of expenses paid out to date resulting in total year-to-date deficit of $200,000.
- The Board received as information the School Facility Utilization Review with proposed recommendation as prepared by commissioned consultants from Edmonton Public Schools Infrastructure Planning.
- The Board approved the Three Year Captial Plan 2020 - 2023 with the following priorities:
- 2020-2021 – Year One
- Priority One: Modernization of Spruce Grove Composite High School at a cost of $20-25 million dollars
- 2021-2022 – Year Two
- Priority One: Modernization and preservation of Brookwood School at a cost of $12-14 million dollars.
- Priority Two: Modernization and preservation of Forest Green School at a cost of $12-16 million dollars.
- 2022-2023 - Year Three
- Priority One: Replacement of Parkland Village School at a cost of $14-18 million dollars.
- Priority Two: Modernization and preservation of Tomahawk School at a cost of $14-16 million dollars.
- 2020-2021 – Year One
- The Board approved Board Policy 2 - Role of the Board.
- The Board approved Board Policy 7 - Board Operations.
- The Board approved Board Policy 8 - Board Committees.
- The Board approved Board Policy 13 - Appeals and Hearings Regarding Student Matters.
- The Board approved Board Policy 17 - Student Transportation.
- The Board received as information the Transportation Services Department Report for 2018-2019 as presented by Director, Transportation Services Dennis Simcoe.
- The Board received as information the Human Resources 2018-2019 Department Report, as presented by Human Resources Director Shae Abba.
